How to identify drain flies?
Drain flies are tiny, moth-like insects measuring 0.12 to 0.20 inches (3-5 mm). They have hairy bodies and wings, giving them a fuzzy appearance. These pests are usually dark in color with segmented antennae and may have small white spots on their wings.

Drain Flies vs Fruit Flies
It’s easy to confuse drain flies with fruit flies, but here’s how to tell them apart:
✅ Drain flies have thick, hair-covered wings, while fruit flies do not.
✅ Fruit flies are yellowish or light brown, whereas drain flies are darker.
✅ Drain flies have long, segmented antennae, while fruit flies have short, barely visible ones.
